Our MDS nextgen members Pinky, Gopu, and Shobana organized a group tour of our villages: Thirukkodikaval, Vishnupuram, Konerirajapuram, Sengalipuram, Semmangudi, and Arasavanangadu. It’s a well planned and executed get together with 25 participants, members & non members, in 2 AC vans. It’s great to see the warmth and affection of residents, as we could visit homes like we used to do and connect with residents met long long ago for some!
At every Temple, Church & Jain Temple too, Shobhana, Sri Devi, Lalitha Ramanathan, Lalitha Sivakumar, Lalitha Venkataraman and Jayakamala sung songs, well planned and temple specific.
We all thank our village hosts for the arrangements, great reception and of course great food!
*Thirukkodikaval: Venkatraman & Seetha (Pinky’s parents) breakfast & lunch and Kathiramangalam Pannai/Gopal and his sister Geetha mami for buttermilk, during our temple visit.
*Vishnupuram: Our GVTC Mahalingam and several residents. He arranged a tour of GVTC & presentation and filter coffee!
*Konerirajapuram: Swaminathan (our professional photographer) & Mythili (Welcome Drink!) and Vaidyanathan & Mohana Mami (Gopu’s Uncle) Dinner
*Sengalipuram: Soleswaran (Solu) reception & visit to Valmiki Parnasala and Raja & Pichai Breakfast
*Semmangudi: Local Residents/ Mani, Chitra, Ramdass, Dharmaiyan organized ilaneer & nongu fruit, and Panneer Soda! At Semmangudi, we could visit only Gopalaswamy’s home (Semmangudi’s Son). The local residents @ semmangudi organized visits to Perumpannaiyur Church and Deepangudi Jain Temple.
*Arasavanangadu: Kalyanaraman & Usha (Vruksha) visit to old age home managed by them, Varagur Swamigal athistanam….Nice lunch and afternoon tea
*Kumbakonam: Shivakumar & Lalitha accommodation and dinner
